In Liberia, Jobs are Scarce. FREE Working Skills can Help...
Jobs are scarce in Liberia. Available jobs are often part-time or seasonal. Most young Liberians work as farmers or self-employed, and nearly all need to improve their working skills to build a better life.
One practical solution to benefit Liberia, its economy and all Liberians, is to provide FREE working skills, tools, links and resources for young Liberians combined with various ways to consider practical working opportunities. This together with lots and lots of encouragement.
This is what we do. OneLiberia provides completely FREE services to help young Liberians improve their working skills and earn more money:
OneLiberia.org | Africa54Training.com | Africa54.org
Young Liberians connect the Internet using their smartphone or mobile device (or borrowing someone else's) for information and entertainment. OneLiberia expands the readily available Internet information to improve their working skills.
OneLiberia delivers its completely FREE services using:
... containing expanded written content together with audio videos designed for those with poor reading skills.
BACKGROUND SUMMARY:
OneLiberia provides working skills and vocational education to various segments of Liberia’s working population: e.g. self-employed individuals, crafts, traders, formal and informal businesses, and small-holder farmers, together with the under-employed and unemployed.
OneLiberia's skills and resources are steadily modified and updated, directly serving Liberia's cities and towns, Liberia’s Atlantic coastline, areas bordering Sierra Leone, Guinea, Côte d'Ivoire, and Liberia’s rural interior.
Most Liberian workers leave school after only a few years of education and effectively become self-employed. While at school, classes are often poorly managed; many of the teachers are relatively under-educated and unprepared to teach basic vocational skills. According to UNICEF, "36% of Liberia's primary teachers and 29% of secondary instructors are unqualified". Many students leave school with poor reading and math, and lack working skills. Most will never return to school; online skills' education and training can help.
Those who improve their working skills and learn new skills almost always do better, and directly or indirectly benefit: Liberia's economy & opportunities; in-country and global distributors, wholesalers, retailers & traders; communications and transportation sectors, and Liberia's workers and their families.
